Film notes:
tr

A Bit On The Side came about as a result of a phone call from Shoreline Films in Ulverston.

I was invited to direct a film based on a script which had won a local screenwriting competition, a comedy about a man who obsessively borrows drills. It was the first time I had ever directed a script that I hadnít personally written and wanted to do it in order to have that experience.

I actually found the process to be quite liberating and it allowed me to focus purely on direction. It also gave me another chance to work with my favourite leading man, Dean Taylor, and as usual he acts up a crazy and charming storm.

The film has shown at film festivals around the world, from Sutton to Russia to Slamdance in Utah and Brooklyn.
